European City Facility – Results of First Call
The European City Facility (EUCF) closed its first Call for Applications on the 2nd October 2020.
Overall, 257 applications were submitted within the first EUCF Call. Only 30 of them, tough, are successful and are entitled to receive 60.000€ for the development of the Investment Concept and for the implementation of a set of activities such as energy audits, feasibility studies, market analysis, etc.
Among the available sectors on which focusing the development of the Investment Concept, successful municipalities targeted the following:
- Building Integrated Renewables, targeted by the 20% of beneficiaries;
- Innovative Energy Infrastructure, by the 16% of beneficiaries;
- Public Buildings, by the 15% of beneficiaries;
- Residential Buildings, by the 13% of beneficiaries;
- District heating, by the 11% of beneficiaries;
- Sustainable Urban Mobility, by the 8% of beneficiaries;
- Smart grids, by the 7% of beneficiaries.
In total, successful applicants represent 14 countries out of 28 (EU-27 +UK).
Beneficiaries will be also targeted by EUCF capacity building activities to increase their competences on sustainable energy and finance and will be involved in matchmaking events with potential investors (both private and public).
