R & I Days: A golden opportunity event for research and innovation in Europe
From the 24th to 26th of September, the European Research and Innovation Days annual policy event brought together world leaders from industry, finance, academia and business to shake-up the debate on the future research and innovation landscape.
The spotlight at this event was put on participatory sessions on Horizon Europe Research and Innovation Missions which cover 5 areas (climate change, cancer, healthy oceans, climate neutral cities and healthy soil and food).
The need to speak to the imagination of citizens as a preliminary step for their engagement was echoed at the different sessions. The discussions provided a pool of ideas to ensure new input and success of the missions.
Most notably, the conference included a Horizon Village area which included an information centre with 21 homes (each dedicated to a specific topic of Horizon Europe) which allowed to learn more about how to take ideas to market and make use of the available funds. Attendees were also given an opportunity to network with industry peers and share information about how to achieve success on different H2020 calls.
In addition to providing a great agenda of speakers, project exhibitions and workshops for its attendees, the event provided end-of-day unique opportunities to lighten up and socialize in ways that are not strictly speaking networking. The event featured interactive educational sessions, both outside the event building and indoors, designed to inform on the problems connected to plastic use, among others.
