Seal of the European Year of Cultural Heritage for the RENERPATH-2 project
The European project RENERPATH “Methodology of energy rehabilitation of heritage buildings 2” is co-financed by the INTERREG VA Spain – Portugal Program 2014-2020, known as POCTEP. It has received from the European Commission the stamp of the European Year of Cultural Heritage (EYCH Label), which is a recognition of the work that is being developed within the framework of this.
Different entities from Spain are working within this project, such as the CARTIF Foundation, as project coordinator, the Regional Government of Castilla y León through the Regional Energy Agency of Castilla y León (EREN) and the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage, together with the Ciudad Rodrigo Foundation 2006. While on the other side of the border, in Portugal, the Regional Directorate of Culture of the North is working on the project, joined by the Technological Center of “Cerâmica e do Vidro” (CTCV) and the Regional Agency of Energy and Environment do Interior (ENERAREA).
The objective of the project is to establish a specific European pre-regulation for the affordable energy rehabilitation of heritage buildings for public or private use alike, in parallel to the one existing for new buildings. That pre-normative will have the previous project POCTEP RENERPATH methodology as starting point, and will allow the conjunction of technologies, innovative and non-intrusive techniques for the energy analysis. They will be implanted and validated in a representative group of singular properties of the community of Castilla and León and the Central and Northern regions of Portugal, from where it intends to extend to the entire EU, and to support the rehabilitation action.
