Croatia’s largest community energy project
Great news from LIFE LOOP on the ground:
In addition to fresh fruit and vegetables, the City Market in Križevci will soon provide local energy from the Sun! The energy community ZEZ Sunce has just signed a contract for a guaranteed purchase price (feed-in-tariff). Preparatory activities for the installation of a solar power plant are underway.
Let’s remember 
ZEZ Sunce acquired the right to a 25-year lease of the roof of the City Market in Križevci through a public call. Through a call for members, in March 2024, EUR 140,000 were collected for the construction of a 200 kW solar power plant. In November 2024, the project was successfully submitted to the HROTE tender, ensuring the project’s profitability.
ZEZ Sunce is an energy community whose establishment was initiated as part of LIFE LOOP by our project partner Green Energy Cooperative (ZEZ). It currently counts 127 members from all over Croatia. ZEZ Sunce brings together citizens for joint, long-term and non-speculative investment in solar power plants in order to create positive social, ecological and economic values in their community.
We are looking forward to the soon commissioning of this solar power plant!
