Intracting, Green bonds, Citizen financing, EPC and much more, on the menu of PROSPECT next learning cycle

The fourth and last H2020 PROSPECT learning cycle on innovative financing for local energy and climate projects, will start this November 2019, following an ongoing 2-step recruitment process of mentors and mentees.
The first step, calling for mentors during the summer, resulted in the applications of more than 20 cities, regions and energy agencies (local and regional) , from 13 different EU countries.

Energy performance contracting, as well as Citizen and community financing, remain the forever stars of our learning programme, with respectively 6 and 3 applications, that will offer to the future mentees a variety of experiences to learn from, in different sectoral and territorial contexts.

Two noteworthy newcomers : Green bonds and Intracting !
For this last learning cycle, the project team is very happy to welcome the application of the city of Paris, who will share its 4-year experience in implementing and managing green bonds for climate and social projects, as well as the application of the smaller (but olympic!) French city of Albertville, which has launched an initial 130k€ intracting fund earlier this year, largely inspired by the long experience of Stuttgart in Germany.

Last but not least, other innovative financing mechanisms like energy savings certificates, local economic and fiscal incentives, third-party financing (including the negociation and partnership aspects), and different kinds of projects pooling and of public and private funds bundling, will be presented by experienced mentors and covering the 5 PROSPECT thematic modules: Private and Public buildings (including social housing for this edition), Public lighting, Transport (including e-mobility and traffic calming) and Cross-sectoral (mainly the production of renewables or multi-sectoral projects)

As many opportunities for local authorities from the project’s 41 elligible countries, to find out how to unlock resources for their local projects and thus accelerate the energy transition in their territories!
